How to Send an SMS Step by Step

1) Log in to the admin interface

First, log in to your account. If you don’t have one yet, please register first. Once successfully registered, you can access the admin interface and start sending SMS messages.

2) Import contacts (e.g., from Excel or CSV)

You can add contacts in two ways:

  • Manually – suitable if you are sending only a limited number of SMS messages.

  • Import from file – ideal for bulk messaging. You can import contacts from an Excel or CSV file.

3) Set up a communication channel

Go to "Channels → Add a channel" and choose the desired sender type:

  • Generic sender – the system default (GoSMS-test, GoSMS-info, or GoSMS.info)
  • Custom sender name – you can set your own name, e.g., your e-shop name. Max length is 11 characters including spaces. Diacritics are not allowed.
  • Phone number – generic – messages are sent from our system number.
  • Phone number – custom – choose a specific number from our database of available numbers (If you are interested, please contact our customer support at the following email address: podpora@gosms.cz)

Custom sender name or number can be activated in the self-service section under "Channels". Activation takes approximately 2 weeks from order.

4) Top up your credit

To send SMS messages via the GoSMS app, you must first top up the desired amount of credit.

5) Write and send your message

After importing contacts, return to the main menu and click on “Write SMS”.

Create your message, check that the recipients are filled in, and send your SMS. Pay attention to the characters used:

  • Message without diacritics or special characters – if it contains only basic 7-bit characters (e.g., A-Z, 0-9, punctuation), it can be up to 160 characters long.
  • Message with diacritics or special characters – if it contains characters outside the basic set (e.g., accents, emoji), it's switched to UCS2 encoding, which allows only up to 70 characters per SMS.
